Victory in Disability Discrimination Case for Federal Employee

Attorney Judy Tseng prevailed in a complex Rehabilitation Act case against the United States Postal Service involving disability discrimination. Ms. Tseng represented a mail clerk who had suffered an on-the-job back injury and was not given reasonable accommodations, despite numerous requests supported by medical documentation, to park closer to the facility and to have a suitable chair. After a lengthy Equal Employment Opportunity Commission hearing, Administrative Law Judge Richardson issued a decision finding that the employee had been denied reasonable accommodations and awarding compensatory damages, pecuniary damages, and all attorney fees requested. Judge Richardson's decision stated, inter alia, "The Complainant's attorney is an experienced attorney with sound experience representing federal employees in EEO matters."
